Constant crashes with hyperlinks panel open

Indesign is crashing every few minutes and it seems to happen only when the hyperlinks panel is open. Is there a fix for this. I've tried updating and going back a version and it's happening.

This is only happening on an M1 Mac, windows doesn't have this problem

Thanks for confirming. Please try the steps shared here https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/setting-preferences.html to restore InDesign preferences. In addition to that, please add full permission to InDesign folders by following the steps shared below:

  • Go to Terminal (Go > Utilities > Terminal.app)
  • Execute the following command on the terminal to provide permission:
    • sudo chmod -R 777 /Users/<user>/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign
    • sudo chmod -R 777 /Users/<user>/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign
    • sudo chmod -R 777 /Users/<user>/Library/Application Support

Once done, reboot the machine and check again and let us know if this solves the issue or if you need any further assistance.

Hi @pstasz ,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. Please ensure that you are on the latest version of InDesign which is 17.3 and if it's already up to date then please share a few more details like:

  1. Is this happening on a specific file or multiple files?
  2. Have you tried re-installing InDesign or restoring preferences?

We're here to help, just need more information.

Regards

Rishabh

It was happening on the most recent version, then I installed 17.2.1 and it's still happening on multiple files. I'm not sure where to go to restore preferences on mac, but these are the first documents I've attempted to open on this new mac.
