Hello, I can't align my objects properly anymore because the contour displaces the handles from the object edge ...

Hi Christian,

you cannot escape this. That's the way InDesign is working and handles it.

Workarounds:

1. First align objects, then apply stroke weights.

2. Set "Align Stroke: Inside" instead of "Center", then align the objects.

Hi Christian,

yes, feature Align is always using the visible bounds of the objects.

Even if you check option "Exclude stroke weight in measurements" of the Transform panel.

Of course I agree, there should be an option to align objects by path point position.

Also by path segments perhaps.

You could support a feature request at InDesign UserVoice or add your own.

Maybe this is the one you like to support:

Align points on a path using direct selection and the Align tool like AI does

FWIW: I commented and voted there.
