Convert to IDML text get run and new text introduced

I am using InDesign CC 2021, I want to convert InDesign file to IDML while conversion paragraphs get runon and new text introduced "ness" in addition to that paragraphs. In the below IDML file screen shot you can see "ness" additional text and paragraphs get run on. If I export as rtf there is no issue.

Convert this indd file to idml and let us know you can able to reproduce this issue. I also change the font to some other font, still I have the same issue.

I attached Indd file: Test file.indd

Screen shot of Indd file Test file

Thanks

Hi Ganesh,

see into the option I turned on and off with my Word Import preferences of InDesign.

The screenshot is in German, but you should guess the ones in your locale version of InDesign.

With said import options I would start from scratch with a new import to a new, blank document.

Hi Uwe

Okay fine, I will check that option also. If I flowed that word with the option you mentioned  in new InDesign document and then convert to IDML there is no issue its working fine. So there is some issue in the composed InDesign document only.

Thanks

Hi Ganesh,

thank you for the Word file.

Imported it with the following import settings (from my German InDesign 2022)

Of course I had some warnings from missing fonts:

And some strange style overrides after I substituted the missing fonts:

After I was removing the style overrides two new fonts where showing up as missing:

So I decided to substitute all the fonts, also the missing ones, with Source Sans Pro:

No issues with rendering the type on the page.

All the contents is there as it should. At least according to your Word file where a strange mix of Times font styles is used for formatting the text. And I can see no gray text in the Word file, no paragraphs that are behaving in a strange way. So in the end I do not know what happened to your InDesign document you provided.

Can you share the Word document?

Or at least one page of it with that sample?

The issue is with the Word file itself or with InDesign's import filter for Word.

Hi Uwe

Please find the attached 1 page word document for further analysis. I also checked the input word file but I can't find any issue/

Here another screenshot of the document where I copied the text to unformatted:

Download that document from my Dropbox account:

How was your document composed?
Was this an automatic process done by a script or a 3rd-party plug-in?

Hi Uwe

It was done through normal composing method only just flow the word file and perform composing.

I just got the another clue While selection the individual character from the heading the word "Election" in the word Election If i select the "n" character alone it show in tool tip as "S" like that if I selecti "o" it shows as "e". In addition to that if I try to delete the last four character "tion" its not deleting. Please find the attached screen shot.

I think this character was adding as additional content "ness".

Thanks

Hi Ganesh,

this document is somehow wrecked. Beyond repair, I think.

There are e.g. texts with two paragraph returns in one line of text. See screenshot from my German InDesign 2021.

I copied the text without formatting to a new document and the Story Editor Window is looking like this:

And yes, I see the same like you if I export to IDML and open the document as InDesign document.
