After upgrading Indesign to version 14.0.2 when I try to open a file, the program offers to convert it, but the converted file is missing some paragraph styles and I can't revert this conversion.  What am I supposed to do?

    Hi edit2n76042820 ,

    that's a rather strange case.

If the styles are missing and you are sure that they are in the old document you could open the old document in the old version of InDesign and export an IDML file ( InDesign CS4 and above ). Or export an INX file ( InDesign CS to CS4 ).

Did you try to open an IDML file?
What's the exact version of the old InDesign?

    What operating system?

Can you provide a sample document of an old file?
If yes post a download link to Dropbox or a similar service.

    Regards,

Actually, the message to convert the file showed up when I tried to open a file using the older version (13.1.1 x64). It said the file was created using a newer version and it could not be opened unless I converted it, so I did (and saved it over the original file). But there were changes in the layout (especially the space between the lines). I have only noticed that the CC14 (updated version) was not chosen as default after I converted the file. That's why I want to know if it is possible to revert the conversion... I've already tried to save the file again in both versions (2018 and 2019) and IDML file, but it did not work.

You did save the converted document and overwrote the original document.

Consult your backups to get back the unconverted document.
