how can I copy a full document so I can open it in a new document and do changes with the same format...

while still having my old document available to open up.

Same problem as always - you've all - or the top-most - paragraph style based on the [Basic Paragraph Style], which is set to wrong direction. 

 

Instead of copying contents to a new document - within InDesign - quit InDesign, make a copy of your INDD file - work on a new copy.

Press F12 select move page option and move all document in new file. First your new file create.

Thank you, I moved the document, but it appears the wrong text direction in thte second document - same indesign and both in english!

See how I toggled between both...

Save as new document 

or Layout > Move Pages
