What problems are you facing with your file? Please explain the problem in details so that we can figure out if it can be fixed on your own or if it would require to be sent to Adobe for further investigation.

    Hi there,

We are very sorry to hear about this. There are multiple factors both internal and external to InDesign application that can lead to document corruption. Please email your InDesign file to corrupt_indesign_docs@adobe.com and we will take a look at the document.

If the file is larger than 10 Mb, you can zip (and password protect) the file and upload to Creative Cloud account (or Dropbox) and send us the document link.

I must also inform that file recovery can't be guaranteed with a 100% success. We'll surely try our best.

    Regards,

    Hi reemn90834755 ,

    some tests:

I had no problem to open your document from CS5 with InDesign CC 2019.

Unfortunately that joy did not last long. Soon after InDesign CC 2019 crashed.

Also tried to "blind open" the document without a window by using a script and to export an IDML file from it.

This failed as well. InDesign CC 2019 crashed while writing the IDML file. That resulted in a 1 KB sized IDML file.

    Regards,
    Uwe

    Hi David,

    yes, thanks!

He should do the update to version 7.0.4 to get the best result out of the IDML file.

    Best,
    Uwe

    Hi reemn90834755 ,

FWIW: You are using InDesign CS5 version 7.0.0.357.

This is the first instance of CS5. It is not bug fixed.

So I'd suggest you update to the latest bug fix version of CS5 and that is version 7.0.4:

Adobe - InDesign : For Windows : Adobe InDesign CS5 7.0.4 update - all languages

    Regards,
    Uwe

Hello, your file was corrupt, I am guessing something with the tables, which is a quite common problem area. It is hard to say, could also be a corrupt font or image. In any event, the Markzware DTP File Recovery Service fixed it! I will get you your file for free (In this case) in a moment (see below I have a link to it), but here is how it worked:

By the way, MarkzTools2 (InDesign to IDML, stand-alone) is really a very useful tool for any Mac users to have in the box-of-tricks. As highlighted in the video.

P.S. Here is your fixed file (InDesign CC 2019 and an IDML which will open in CS5):
