Question

Crash when opening keyboard shortcuts via Edit menu

InDesign crashes when I open the 'keyboard shortcuts' menu on InDesign 2022 (17.1).

I've tried reinstalling, deleting preferences and InDesign on other computers.

Anyone else have this?

What Operating System?
What are the system specs; Processor, RAM, Graphics Card, HD Space?

Sounds like a conflict with something installed on the computers, something common like anti-virus software, or other sorts of things like that.

You could try CC Cleaner tool as reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Hello Eugene,

Thanks for your reply.

First a reply to your questions.

OS is Mac OS 11.3 (Big Sur)

iMac 5k, 27" 2019

i9 9900

64 GB Ram @2666 Mhz

RX 580, 8 GB

1 TB Internal drive space, 300 GB free

Solution: I found the problem in the Scripts panel. I have a lot of scripts and some have keyboard shortcuts. I removed the scripts from the folder and I could easily use the keyboard shortcuts menu again. After my modification I copied the scripts back and I can use InDesign like before.

Also... it could be that the menu takes a really REALLY long time to load. I didn't wait longer than about 15 minutes.
