Question

Create a Website from my Indesign Catalogue

Is Bridge the best place to have an image library for both my print catalogue (Indesign) as well as a web catalogue?

Would we be able to create a book & website from Adobe Bridge? Or is there an alternative solution?

Would the images in the image library be public facing for a website? Would we be able to access / display them?

Did you read the OP’s requirement? This has nothing to do with creating a website with InDesign.

InDesign and Bridge are not the tools to use to create websites. If you know InDesign well you'll find it easy to create simple websites with Adobe Muse, which is part of the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. If you want more complex websites, and want to use an Adobe product, then Dreamweaver is the tool to use, but note it has a steep learning curve.

You can use InDesign to create a book – both for printing and in digital formats, such as PDF, FXL ePub, Reflowable text ePubs and Publish Online. Each digital format has its strengths and weaknesses, there's no perfect solution.

Hi Derek,

Thanks but I don't think I explained myself properly.

I have a client who makes up catalogues in InDesign, and then uploads images to a website to display her catalogue - which is a mission in itself.

I was wondering if there was a process that could be made easier... An image library where the images are tagged, and get used for both print and the web. If that makes sense?

We were looking at the Adobe Experience Manager, but I'm sure there is another solution.

Looking forward to your response.

You're going to need a specialized content management system. There's is nothing that InDesign or any other Adobe application can do with this. What are you using to create the website?
