Question

Create Outlines type glitch?

InDesign CC 17.3 / Mac OS 11.6.8

Before sending file to print I am creating outlines of type (on a curve) and it's not rendering the type as it should. Any ideas why?

Hi @beccameek3313 ,

this bug should be fixed with InDesign 2022 version 17.4.

If you still can see the issue scale the oval with the editable text on path to 1000% and then do the outline.

Scale the result back to 10%.

Why are you doing this? There should be no reason at all for it.

Some printer services still require it, and some designers don't get to choose who does the printing.

Regardless, it's also completely possible that the OP can choose someone else and has no real reason to do it. Unless he/she returns we'll never know.

This is a bug in InDesign.

There were a couple of threads discussing this - if you need outlines per your printer's request, there is a preflight setting in Acrobat that will convert to outlines in your PDF without this issue.
