Question

Creating a report/export of object specifications, positions, sizes etc

I'm currently working on the design for some identity cards.

Due to the nature of the software package that prints these cards (HID's AsureID), a number of text design elements need to be recreated within the relevant software package to deliver the new design.

Does anyone know of a way I can export a report or document of a page/spread/whole file, that shows the exact positions and specifications of every object on each page, such as:

  • x/y position;
  • width and height;
  • background and border colour, width; and
  • text font, weight, colour, alignment, etc.

The intent of this is to speed up delivery of the new designs, by not having to write down/manually extract all this information that is already contained  within the indesign file.

Thanks in advance.

What does 'etc.' entail exactly?

Are the objects named - which objects will get the x y data?

For example.
