Hello, I have multiple .indd files for chapters (in total about 300 pages). In the end, I would like to create Table of Contents pages for all chapters combined. What is the best way (steps) to do this? I know that I can create a book with multiple files. Then how will I be able to create TOC on the book? Thank you.

Correct answer Eugene Tyson

In the document you want the TOC - or create a new document

Assemble all your files in File>New Book and ensure they are all correct order and page numbers etc.

In the document where the TOC is to go to

Layout>Table of Contents

Here you will see a dialogue box and near the bottom it will say 'Include Book Documents'

Then assemble your TOC the way you want it.
