CS3 Question - Detect an object's arrangement?

I was wondering if there was a way, using Applescript to detect an objects arrangement (i.e. Is object A in front of Object B?)

I wanted to try and make a script that would rotate two objects slightly (between 3 and 5 degrees).  The front object would be rotated counterclockwise and the rear object clockwise.
