I had somehow changed my little arrow cursor to a larger cursor that looked more like a triangle than an arrow. How do I get it back to normal?

Check if any options in Preferences > User Interface Scaling will help.

What are your InDesign and operating system versions? What tool is selected in the Tools panel? Also, please post a screenshot of the cursor.

have you just updated from a much older InDesign version by any chance? the cursor appearance changed some long time ago.
