Custom alt text not showing in pdf posted online

Question

Has anyone experienced issues with alt text not appearing after a pdf had been remediated and posted online? Is it a browser issue, or is something happening between exporting from InDesign, running Accessibility check in Acrobat, then posting to the web? Alt text shows up in PDF before posting to web, but after posting to web, on mouse hover, no alt text appears.

Browsers and third party PDF readers are nothing but a crapshoot when it comes to PDFs. You'll note that you're exporting an Adobe PDF so if works in Acrobat I'm not sure what, if anything, can be done to fix it anywhere else.
