Custom Field no longer working for Alt text for accessibility

Hey, Adobe, it was nice of you to add that Accessiblity (Alt text) field to InDesign and Bridge. But you really should have told people that now that you've added that, the Custom field will no longer be recognized as the holder of alt text.

We've got all these documents in progress where we've added alt text to the Custom field, and now we have to go add the alt text again, now to the Accessibility field.

The reason this is a problem is you can't add text to that field from within InDesign.  The Accessiblity (Alt text) can only be edited from within Bridge.

This might not qualify as a bug. But it sure is a problem, one which you should have alerted people to in giant letters before & after you did it.

Well, at the very least, I'm telling other users about the issue.

And I sure haven't been able to find a workaround yet.

There is no any Adobe technical support employees here. If you see them - this is ghost. Here the users forum. Please tell about bug through Adobe Support Chat or through indesign.uservoice.com

Remember, never say you can't do something in InDesign, it's always just a question of finding the right workaround to get the job done. © David Blatner
