Data from MySql 5.0.19 to Indesign 5.5

Hi Guys

I am very new to Indesign plug-ins!

Do you know the best way to flow data from a MySql 5.0.19 database to Indesign CS5.5?

Adobe help tells me I can export XML from MySQL and thenimport xml to Indesign.

Does anybody know if this would work with MySQL 5.0.19 to Indesign 5.5. I don't have to do it straight away just need to tell a client it can be done!??
