Data Merge - List best approach

I have used data merge in indesign in the past.  What I am currently trying to do is to make a two-column list (think like a menu if you will) of all the stuff we have/offer at the moment.

I have all this in excel.  What is the best way to easily have that populate a list?

In the past my data merges have been across multiple pages/spreads for each record so not sure if there is a way to essentially have one text box or similar to generate this.

Any help or guidance is appreciated.

I'm not sure that Data Merge is what you want for this. Maybe if you show us what the rows and columns of your Excel file look like, someone can suggest a solution. Maybe you can use a script.
