Data merge | Problem with pictures - Need different content settings for pictures

I have imported pictures via an excel table. Almost everything works just fine but I need different settings for the way indesign handle different categories of pictures.

Just an example.

One category should be placed content aware and another category should be scaled up propotionally.

Actually Indesign handle every picture category the same way.

Hi @Tobias004 ,

you may test the option "Use Existing" with the Content placement options of data merge.

Scroll down to:

Set content placement options
Content placement options

https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/data-merge.html

Use Existing

Applies the existing individual frame fitting option for image frames.

This option is useful when you want to choose an already existing fitting on the destination frame.

Oh!

Sorry, I see that you are still on InDesign 2019 version 14.

"Use Existing" was introduced with InDesign 2020 version 15.

I just tried the "Fit Images Proportionally" under Content Placement Options, and it seems like that feature is broken in the current version of InDesign. I'd suggest that if it worked.
