Data Merge with Form Fields - Naming Conflict

I'm using data merge to create forms for multiple individuals with their info prefilled. After preforming the data merge, the first page is created with form fields in the correct tab order from left to right, but each following pages form fields are named top to bottom with the incorrect tab order.

Edit: Don't think this has anything to do with Data Merge. I can replicate the issue just by duplicating page 1 within the template file.

Sounds like an issue with the article/tab order of the forms. I have posted an answer over on this forum: The order of the fields is different in acrobat  on how I can get the forms to tab in the right order for me.

I can recall in the past that I'd had issues with the order of forms not being preserved by cutting and pasting. Cutting and pasting does not add them to the articles panel unfortunately so if there are lot of form fields in a document, it can be a real slog adding them to the articles panel.

If the answer wasn't in my post, perhaps it might be on my blog at colecandoo!

    Hi playin0 ,

are the formfields part of table cells?

If not you could try this:

First convert one cell to a graphic cell, then select the graphic frame of that graphic cell and convert that to a form field.

If you now copy/paste the graphic cell from left to right, from top to bottom, will the tab order be ok with a duplicated table?

    Regards,
