Hello,

I'm experiening what I think is a dead pixel on my screen between macbook and apple display when using InDesign. It doesn't happen all the time. It's not a "having too many files open" or a memory thing (I believe. All apps are updated, etc. My apple display in June 2025 new and macbook is 2023.

Hi @ebhcreative,

Thanks a lot for sharing the screenshot and details. I can imagine how distracting this must be when you're working.

I agree with Bill's suggestion to turn off GPU Performance in InDesign preferences and see if that resolves the issue. Also, please confirm if this pixel shows up only when using InDesign or if you notice it in other apps too. If it's only happening in InDesign, it could be a display rendering issue rather than a true dead pixel.

It would also help to know your exact macOS and InDesign versions, and whether this happens with all documents or just specific ones. If possible, please try connecting only your MacBook display (without the Apple display) and check if the same thing occurs.

Let me know what you observe after trying these steps.

I'm here to help and looking forward to your update!

Abhishek

Does this only happen when using InDesign? From your screenshot it looks to me like a hardware glitch but I would suggest turning off GPU Performance to see if it is a screen view issue. You can turn it off in the GPU Performance section of your InDesign preferences.
