Delete pages

Hi, I've placed text from Word (an RTF file to be exact) and there are a few blank pages but I can't delete them. Or, it deletes the page but replies the deleted page with another blank page underneath. I'm using the side bar to select the page and then hitting the delete page button at the bottom.

Can anybody help?

Legend

There may be page breaks or empty returns flowed into the text boxes on those pages, so deleting the pages causes them to be recreated to accomodate the overflowed text.

Turn on hidden characters, and delete the extra bits.
