Determining InDesign Version Number
I have been working with the disappearing text bug (https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/indesign-2026-text-disappears-while-editing-text-frames-on-windows/m-p/15676310/), and one piece of advice in that thread, marked as correct, was:
Thanks again for your patience here. I wanted to share a quick update from the product team.
The fix for this issue is included in InDesign 21.2, and the latest pre-release build available now is 21.2.0.27, which is newer than the 21.2.0.25 build mentioned earlier. If you are still seeing the text disappearing behavior, please update to 21.2.0.27 from the Creative Cloud Desktop App under Apps > Pre-release > InDesign and test the same workflow there.
Once you've tried the update, please let us know if the issue is resolved on your side. Your confirmation will help us close the loop and move this fix forward to the public release.
So, I'm trying to check if I have the latest version (at the time of that post, 21.2.0.27). So, I go to (pre-release) InDesign > Help > About. At this point, on my high-resolution monitor I see a screen that has text so small that I either have to use a magnifying glass to read it or use SnagIt to do a screen capture of just that dialog box and paste into my ASCII editor (UEStudio). That needs to be fixed, PLEASE, but that's not the main point. The main point is, at the top of the boiler plate, I see:
Id Adobe InDesign (Prerelease) 21.2 x64 (Mainline CI #01a8b76)
Would it be possible to add some more numbers after the first decimal point so we know which pre-release version we're on? Or perhaps the key to deciphering the Mainline CI # and how it corresponds to the decimal system in the post.
Thank you!
