Thanks Norio. It answers my question.

I do have a follow-up question. I am relatively a beginner in working with InDesign plug-ins. My job at hand is to port CC2015 plugins to CC2017 SDK both on Windows and Mac.

I am looking for a free version of Visual Studio 2015 that I could use. I downloaded the free community edition and selected Visual C++ in the components to be installed. After installation when I trying opening the plug-in project, its declared incompatible.

Could you recommend which one to use - there are many visual studio editions?

I am using Visual Studio Professional  2015 SP3.

I am interested in using Visual Studio Community edition.
