Display alternating shapes at the bottom of book pages

Hello everyone,

My first time posting here....

Need some help and understanding on how to display 3 shapes in a cyclic manner at the bottom  (center) of the page in a book (same co-ordinates and dimensions for each shape) - eg. A square, a triangle and a circle. One page has only one of the shapes displayed.

If possible, could you please guide me on how to do this and i have a follow-up question, too - the shape should continue from where it previously left off - even if there is a page that does not require any of the shapes to be displayed (e.g. a chapter title page).

Hope i was able to clearly put my question across - i have been able to do this manually, but was hoping for a semi-automatic / automatic method of doing this.

Thank a lot in advance for any help.

Make 1 parent page and 3 parent pages as children of the first one.
In the first parent page make all objects common to all pages.
In the 3 children parent pages add those shapes.
Go to the page panel.
Select the pages to those you want to apply the first shape by holdeing the command/control key.
Hold the alt/option key and click on the thumb of the parent page you want to apply.
Last 2 steps do again to the others.

If it is a book you should consider to use primary text frames so you have no problems with reapplying a different master.
