Do we have script in Indesign to merge two interactive pdfs into One Seamless Interactive PDF

Hi All,

I have two different Interactive PDFs with approx. 50 pages in each document. Looking for a script in Indesign to merge them to One Seamless Interactive PDF and also have the Interactivity working.

 

I have tried this script: PlaceMultipagePDF.jsx, but it is importing the pdf as image and interactivity is not working. 

I have tried using combine PDFs option in Acrobat, but the main reason to merge both pdfs in Indesign is to have a button in between both docs to connect them to next page and previous page and have one seamless interactive PDF.

 

Please suggest solutions to merge both the PDFs and have the interactivity and export the pdf into One Seamless Interactive PDF.

It's really a manual job to do what you're asking. In Acrobat Pro, once you successfully combined the two interactive pdfs, go to the last page of the first pdf then go to the previous page and copy the "next page" navigation button and paste it on the last page and move it to the appropriate place. You'll need to read this help article section on "Add a button to an Acrobat PDF form" to get some understanding of buttons and how to edit them. Then lastly set the action to go to the next page. Here's a sample tutorial from a google search.

Importing Interactive PDFs mean that none of the origin interactivity is kept alive when exported to PDF again. But there is no need to do that in InDesign. Do it in Acrobat Pro. There are several means for that task. Like Create PDF from several Files or simple open both and in the Pages Tools move the thumbnails from one file to the other.

    Have tried this method earlier to combine both the interactive pdfs into one, It was sucessful to combine pdfs.

    Do we have a script or an option to connect both pdfs into one seamless PDF.

    For example: The last page of first pdf and the first page of second pdf should have a seamless connectivity with the same Next page, Previous page buttons to navigate and Home button to reach the first page of the PDF.

     

    It is possible to add buttons to those pages in Acrobat and have a Script to navigate and connect seamlessly as One Intearctive PDF.

    Please suggest solutions and if you could provide some script that would be really helpful.
