Does the Open Sans fond has the Polish characters(symbols)?

At google fonts they show al the Open Sans characters, including the ones i need for a polish translation.

But when i put them in Indesign they sow up as a square (unknown symbol)

Do i have the wrong installations at Indesign? Or do i have to pick an other font..

i need Characters like these :

ż ę ć

Yes, Open Sans has support for Polish and other Central European (CE) languages).

It must be that the version you have downloaded and installed has been subsetted to not have that support. If you download it from Google here it will by default have full language support: Open Sans on Google Fonts

How are you bringing the characters into InDesign?

Open Sans appears to have the additional roman Polish characters: I can access them in the Glyphs panel.
