Drop down fly out menus dont work

InDesign: Drop-down fly menus don't work after updating to Monterey, uninstalling + reinstalling InDesign, and deleting previous preferences, Started and restarted iMac - as well - and nothing seems to work

Previous editions of InDesign worked flawlessly

Any insights would be very much appreciated!

A possible solution was brougth forward by user Kev Llewellyn. Maybe that helps.
