drop down menus don't work

I am having problems with my drop down menus not working. I have to uninstall and reinstall to get them to work and that does not always work

I am having the same issues with the drop down menus not showing up after clicking on the tab.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled InDesign and reset the Preferences on multiple occasions. This doesn't fix the issue.

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
