InDesign (and Illustrator) are Postscript-based applications and require a Postscript-capable printer if you want to print directly from InDesign. Any non-Postscript printer will print lower resolution, in which case, the proper approach is to create a PDF (which does the task of converting the file to print properly on other devices). Based on a  quick search, your printer model does have Postscript emulation, so assuming you have installed the proper Postscript driver from OKI for your model and OS (I only see drivers up to OS 15, so if you have Tahoe, you might be out of luck), then you should be fine, ASSUMING you have set the proper options in your Print dialog boxes. So if you can screen shot these, then maybe we can sort out the issues.

In the meantime, your color issues are likely because you are applying double-color management. i.e. you've selected "Let Indesign Determine Colors" unncessarliy because the printer itself alreday has its color management in place. Again, we would need to see your print dialogs.

All this comes down to say, creating a PDF and printing from that is the best approach.

Guten tag, Moett,

The correct procedure is to export to PDF; then print from the PDF out of Acrobat. Are you doing this?

Hello Mike,

But that's not correct. Using PDF takes longer and the prints are not as sharp and authentic as those from the original InDesign file. I don't understand why OKI or ADOBE don't respond to this immediately. For many weeks now, I have been receiving new instructions from both companies that I cannot follow because they refer to terms and designations that do not exist in the menus, and I am becoming increasingly uncertain. I have the feeling that these service providers (manufacturers) are not familiar with the new M4 processor in my new iMac24 and are therefore just looking for excuses.

Thank you very much for your help . . . . 🍀

PDF is absolutely the way to handle this.
