Dynamic spelling underline is asking me to change all first letters to uppercase

I turned on dynamic spelling to see potential mistakes in the text, but it is asking me to change all first letters of words to uppercase, even when they are not at the beginning of a sentence. This has been really annoying because there is so much underlined text that I can't really pay attention to the red ones, which are actually potential grammar mistakes. Has anyone else experienced this problem and knows how to fix it?

The graph style is set to my language. Only that came to my mind is that InDesign thinks it's all names because it has bad vocabulary in my language, so it asks me to change the first letter to uppercase so the word makes sense to the system. But that would be so stupid, why wouldn’t it underline those words in red instead?

I take it back, might be something in the document settings because I opened another document with the same paragraph style, and the words are not underlined.

Hi @exquisite_giggles0233,

 

As per your description, this issue could be happening because InDesign’s dictionary is incorrectly flagging common words as proper nouns, making it suggest capitalization. Could you try adjusting the Dynamic Spelling setting via preferences and then let me know? Steps here:  

1. Go to Edit > Preferences > Spelling.
2. Under Dynamic Spelling, change the color for "Uncapitalized Words" to white. 
3. Click OK and test if the unwanted blue underlines disappear.

Additionally, what you can do is confirm if you have selected the correct language in Edit > Spelling > User Dictionary and add the commonly flagged words in the User Dictionary to prevent them from being marked incorrectly.

Hello, this kind of worked. It's a bit of a workaround because when I have the text on a colored background, I can still see the underlines, right? 😄 But it works on most pages. Thank you for your help!
I still hope someone can tell me why it keeps underlining, though. It only happens in some documents and with certain paragraph styles, so I suspect there might be an issue in the settings. We use documents from different countries, which causes a lot of settings mixing.

Still, the paragraph language matches both the document and the spelling settings, so I'm not sure why this is happening.
