Dynamic Text Horizontal Scale with Data Merge

I'm working on some banners for a sports team and we'd like to have the player's name fill the available space, ideally by modifying the Horizontal Scale. Is there a way to do this with the data merge tool built in. 

What I've done currently is scale it down for the longest name but this causes some names to be really squished.
