Editing footnotes in InDesign

Hello, I'd like to know if it's possible to make a footnote with the link in the word instead of the number.

Ex.: footnote², the link is on the number 2, I'd like to have it in the word footnote.

It's correct that the link is on the citation/reference (superscript number) and not on the preceding body text (footnote). That's the coding required for various technologies, including compliance with EPUB, accessibility, HTML.

But if you want "footnote" to be hyperlinked, then you'll have to do that by manually hyperlinking "footnote" to an anchor that precedes the footnote text at the bottom of the page/column. Use the Hyperlinks Panel to manually set the hyperlink as you want it.

So there's no automatized way to do it, right? I'd have to manually hyperlink everything... Is there any JS scripts for that ?

    Hi,

    It could be scripted! …

Note I've been recently banished from a notorious Facebook forum just because of this kind of kindly comment! …

    Best,
