Question

Endnote numbering

Hi,

I have a document that has endnotes at the end of the book but the numbering is continuous and I need it to  start from 1 for each chapter. Do you know how I can do this? I looked at some of the other answers but I don't really understand. I haven't started formatting yet.

Thanks.

Assuming each chapter is a separate story, this should work:

Type > Document Endnote Options > Numbering > Mode > Restart Every Story

Thank you @danaken3 . I did do a bit of googling and saw this option but they aren't set up as stories. At the risk of sounding a bit dim, how do I make them separate stories? I tried using a script that broke threads but that didn't work ie the restart with every story didn't work. I'm also a bit worried about breaking threads as this is just the first proof and there maybe page movement as we progress. Thanks.

What I have done now is use another script to make the endnotes static and I'm manually changing them which isn't ideal at all.
