Endnotes at the end of book

I want to place all my endnotes in my book in a separate chapter (or document) at the end of the book.  Is this possible?  I hope so.

Hi Thomas,

one method will be:

1. Move all endnote text frames to the pasteboard.

2. Copy and paste the contents of all endnote text frames in the right order to the extra document at the end of the book. Every endnote reference number will be changed to <?> .

3. Change every entry <?> to a continuing number.

That can be done with numbering styles and an extra paragraph style.

A bit tedious, I know, but currently I see no other way…

Uwe

I know this is a peer-to-peer forum, but I must admit, this is very frustrating.  Adobe omitting the ability to put the notes section at the end of the book is inexplicable when nearly all book publishers PUT THE NOTES SECTION AT THE END OF THE BOOK. It's like putting a transmission in a car that does not have the ability to go in reverse. Crazy.

Hi,

Please vote for this feature here:Managing Multiple Sets of Endnotes In a Document AND allowing Endnotes to refer to a separate INDD Document – Adobe InD…

Current implementation does not support dynamic endnotes for a Book.

This only unsful in earlier versions of Indesign. Indesign CC 2018 has its own endnotes, but the question is, how to get them in an extra document at the end of the book...
