EPUB Export doesn't respect Object Export Options for SVGs

Dear all,

I am trying to export an EPUB where all images are SVGs (on purpose).

Object Export Options are set to Use Existing Images, then SVG, and Object Tags (something that had proven reliable to me countless times before).

Upon exporting and checking the EPUB archive, I found close to no SVG and plenty of PNG. Sure, in the Conversion page I set it to PNG @ 72ppi because InDesign always exports some invisible PNGs which need to be resized afterwards.

Why is this happening?

At this link you can download the packaged project with everything needed to open it as if I did it on my Mac. What worries me is that the procedure is exactly the same as I used to do before.

Thank you for your help

Thank you Rishabh, that was actually an earlier post of mine.

I ran the script and exported the EPUB again: from a 15MB EPUB it came out as 50MB but, unpacking it, I found all the SVGs inside. Many PNGs were still inside though. Am I correct in guessing that all the "Drop shadow" effects I've added to images were converted to PNGs, as were all the tint modifications to swatches etc ...? Running the resulting EPUB with a validation checker returned many more errors about missing referenced PNGs, which I just have not the time hunting them all.

Would it be a good assumption that, if a document is full of transparency effects, it is not a good candidate for EPUB and should just live as a high-quality, perfectly-working PDF?

So, as far as your answer, yes, it solves the issue of exporting SVGs as they are, but I would like to receive some more help about understanding what should be done with this kind of documents. I spent many hours substituting PDFs with SVGs to manage EPUB export but it seems it was all for nothing. A lesson for the future...

Thank you
