Epub Help

I am having a problem with a ebook that I completed  as fixed layout using Indesign and converted to epub.  The epub looks great in IBooks and Readium.

I am trying format it to a read-along children's book.  I sized the viewpoint to 2480 x 1536 as was suggested so it would work in the newer Ipads.    I used Dreamweaver to crack open the file, and proceeded to try to code the read-along on the first page.   The Font was so large in the page view I couldn't read it.  Also in the code view it had each word vertical which was different from the original.  Is there a way to adjust size of the page view so the text would look normal?
