When adding files to a book, I occasionally get an error message telling me the file can't be added because it's in use or I don't have permission. Help, please.

Correct answer Peter Spier

If it's not actually in use there may be an errant lock file (.idlk) in the folder for the file which wasn't properly deleted when the file was closed. It's also possible yiou really don't have the correct permissions (what's your OS?), but the first thing I would do is reboot the system and see fi the error disappears.

I'm on Sonoma 14.1.1. I'll reboot. Thank you.

Rebooting worked. Thanks.  It seems InDesign and Audition are buggier than they used to be.
