Hi @Natalia.Herrera.I,

I hope the suggestions from experts helped you move forward with recovering your file. Just wanted to check in and see if you were able to open the file. If you’re still running into issues, feel free to share any updates or errors you’re seeing, and I’ll be glad to help further.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Abhishek

Also, if your file in fact is a "cloud document" (.inddc), then you can try to retrieve its earlier versions by doing the following:

-Select your file in the Creative Cloud app.

-In its menu, choose Open in Web.

-In the browser, click the history icon in the right sidebar:

Not sure if you still need this, but I want to post this as a potential solution for others in the same situation. I wasn't even aware of this option, just learned about it now.

Is that just this file or all files?

If it's just that file - then something has gone wrong with it.

https://helpx.adobe.com/ie/indesign/kb/troubleshoot-file-issues.html

There's also an email address at the end if all else fails

This is also a link in the above help files

https://helpx.adobe.com/ie/indesign/kb/indesign-document-recovery.html

If it's all files

---------------------------------------------

There are some things you can try

Try resetting your preferences:

InDesign 19.3 and newer go to Preferences > General > and click on "Reset Preferences on Quit" and then quit and restart.

Or
Windows: Start InDesign, and then press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
macOS: While pressing Shift+Option+Command+Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select 'Yes' on this dialog.

More in-depth cleanse of preferences

------------------------------

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

In addition to other questions:

In what form are your files stored in Creative Cloud?

Is it the new "cloud document" feature?

Or are you using the discontinued Creative Cloud Sync service:

https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/eol-creative-cloud-synced-files.html

If the latter, then you need to pull all your files from there before it's too late.

Also, I assume you don't have any incremental backup of your files?
