Question

Excel to InDesign but with continuous text

Hi everyone!

I'm familiar with combining data from Excel into InDesign, but I'm having trouble figuring out if it's possible to place it all into the same text box.

The fields should look something like this:

  • "Name"
  • "Address"
  • "City"

And then, the next person, like in a phone book or directory.

So, the options I’m considering are:

1. Creating a single box with three columns, where each set of data (Name, Address, City) appears one after the other.

2. Keeping each text box separate, but finding a way to ensure the distance between each box remains consistent, even when the boxes contain different amounts of information.

Thank you!!

Can you post a screenshot of what would you like to achieve?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
