Excluding options in combo box - Interactive PDF InDesign

Hi there,

I'm trying to create a interactive PDF with combo boxes. A lot of them.

The purpose of the document is this: I have lists with products. Per day, a client can select a product. When product A is selected for let's say monday, product A shouldn't be available in de combo box for thuesday. So I copy-pasted every combo box for every day of the week. But when an option is already selected for one day, it needs to be unavailable for the next day. How do I do that in InDesign?

Can someone help me?

Combo boxes that have exactly the same name in the form button panel, will switch as on or off. So if you have product A, and seven days, every button of product A should be named the same, like 'PRODA'. That way if it is selected on monday, it will be unselected in every other day. So it can only be selected in one place. But, it still can be selected in Tuesday, then it will be unselected on Monday. If you want to hide the product in all other days the moment it is selected in a certain day, so it is no longer visible to select, you will have to add hide/show button actions for each of the product A buttons.

Als ik het goed zie aan uw naam, kan ik gewoon in het Nederlands reageren nu toch?

Helaas werkt dit niet. Ik heb gedaan wat u zei maar als ik bijvoorbeeld omelet selecteer uit mijn combo box lijstje, staat deze in de volgende combo box er nog steeds tussen, ondanks dat ik de combolijst exact dezelfde naam heb gegeven. Ligt dit niet aan het soort knop? Als ik 'm verander van combo box naar checkbox en dezelfde naam geef dan reageren ze allebei. Dus vink ik de een aan, gaat de ander automatisch ook aan, zet ik de een uit, gaat de ander ook uit.

Ik wil dus eigenlijk voorkomen dat mensen 3 keer per week een omelet gaan eten en een andere optie uit die combo box kiezen.

Zoals gezegd, keuzerondjes (op z'n Nederlands) zij OF OF. Ze verdwijnen niet. Als je dat wilt doen moet je geen combo box gebruiken maar een selectievlakje dat een unieke naam heeft, bijvoorbeeld PRODA ma, PROD A di, enzovoort. Wanneer product A op maandag wordt gekozen moet deze de knoppen PROD A di,wo,do, vr verbergen enzovoort. Dat is een hoop werk voor elke dag, maar de enige manier... Let wel. de tekst zelf bv Omelet moet zelf dan de knop zijn om te kunnen verbergen.

Een voorbeeld, waarvan alleen de knop Checl maandag (de eerste) werkt (de rest was te veel tijd, maar het gaat om het principe) kun je downloaden via de link hieronder.

Maar: Als je het chechmark weer weghaalt, komt niet de tekst weer terug voor de andere dagen!! Dan moeten we met dubbele checkmarks gaan werken.

Kortom wat je wilt is op zich mogelijk maar wel heel ingewikkeld en heel veel werk. Ik zou een andere olossing kiezen als ik jou was...

Interactivity in Interactive PDFs is fairly limited these days. I suggest you experiment with a few pages and test on sevaral kinds of devices before you commit yourself to this format. The other complication is that there are a number of different PDF readers of variable qualities, and you can't control which your end user might select.
