Export document with PDF articles

Just a quick question about PDF articles. Am I missing something obvious here but when I export (interactive PDF) a document with articles from Indesign and then view it in Acrobat the Articles pane is empty? Are those supposed to show up in Acrobat?

I mean these PDF articles: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/pdf-articles.html

Many thanks!

Articles in PDF are used for Accessibility tags and tag order, even then you have to tick' Use for PDF order' in the fly out menu in the Articles pane 😉

Mainly for accessibility, but not always. For example, if one has a newsletter-type document that has stories jump around the document, articles are useful for the reader to follow the article when reading on screen.

@Variantti The Articles panel in InDesign is not the same as the Reading Order in the PDF (called Articles in Acrobat). As @Frans v.d. Geest mentioned, the Articles panel is many for create a properly tagged PDF. One can use the Layers panel to create a reading order, but I would just do it in Acrobat Pro after export.

A really good book on InDesign accessibility is:

You can also search this forum for anything by the author, Bevi Chagnon.

Well, Articles in InDesign is mainly used for ePub creation but can be used for tag order when you export to PDF and(!) have ticked the option in the Articles fly out menu.
