Hello,

I am transitioning from Adobe InDesign CS6 to CC and some a question on the difference between InDesign Library and Library CC.

In Adobe InDesign CS6 a library is saved locally as a file. It can be imported by another computer if one wishes to share it. CC Libraries are created and saved directly to Adobe's cloud service and a local file doesn't appear to be created. I understand Library CC can be shared but I have found the process to be a little complex. Question:

Can CC Libraries be saved locally as a file and then imported by another computer?

Thank you in advance.

Correct answer JonathanArias

you could make a library, and copy the share link, and post that to your students one time. Done.

clour based workflows is where we are going. So the students have to learn it. I agree that been online is necessar, however, it’s part of the job as a designer to work with what is been provide.

i hired 6 freelanceEd, set up libraries and shared them. Works fine, and they all figured it out.

You can make snippets, save swarches .ase file, and you can load styles fro. Previous files of this is the way you want to work

i use cc libraries with 9 other designers and I think it’s easy to use, what do you have issues with?

Hi JonathanArias,

Thank you for your reply and help.

I don't think CC Libraries are difficult but the sharing process isn't as easy as it could be. In my case I wish to share CC Libraries with content that is specific to my use, my project and I course I plan to teach. Most users find it easier to receive content on a thumb drive and simple import it into their computer.

I would assume that Adobe created a way for CC Libraries to be exported and backed-up so these exported files can be re-installed if something happens to CC Libraries or shared with others.

Thank you again.

Hello, you can share, export or import CC libraries. See the online library. But I think that in your case it is the export of the library that interests.

You can do this directly from menu of the CC libraries of PS, IND, AI ...
