Export to Spreads for Booklet Print from INDD

I understand that there is a script to easily assign an export to PDF in printers spreads (printerspreads.jsx) however, I cannot find this in my system or where I might download.  I need to be able to export the catalog without adjusting manually.  New to INDD so any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

The File>Print Booklet feature works well for simple jobs.

Of course you will need to know the requirements are: saddle-stitch, perfect bound, creep, inside bleed, etc.

On Windows, you can print to the Adobe PDF print driver.

On Mac, you can make a PostScript file and drop it on Acrobat Distiller. I've had good luck with PrintToPDF app (available for free on in the App Store).

Why do you need this? This is the printer's responsibility.

That said, you can export a proper PDF and use Acrobat's booklet printing feature.

Thanks for your reply.  Aware of how the proper PDF to booklet feature works, I was hoping this would be as easy.  Asking specifically about IND and why a multi-page program would not allow for a streamlined and proper export in spreads.  Hoping someone can teach me...

Because imposition has nothing to do with page layout. The vast majority of users don't need it and those in a professional capacity need way more capability than Print Booklet provides.

If you're on Windows you can use the print to PDF function combined with Print Booklet. If you're on Mac, you'll need to load the proper PPD and print to PostScript.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
