Export to two different output profiles in one document

I have a book file with color page insets - the insets are being printed on coated paper and the text pages on woodfree - the printer wants different output profiles for the different papers - Fogra39 for coated and Fogra47 for the text. Is it possible to export the book file complete assigning different profiles for the different pages?

Hi @Atuanui33298027h2tk ,

you need two different exports to PDF from your InDesign book file. Or from a single InDesign document.

If your color pages are stored in distinct InDesign documents apart from the text pages you could select the documents containing the color pages by holding the CMD (CTRL) key and a click. When done the PDF export of the InDesign book file will export the selected InDesign documents to one single PDF.

Also note:

InDesign ( and all other layout software that is currently around ) does not support the PDF 2.0 standard, that is able to do what you want; different output intents in one PDF file on a page-by-page basis. FWIW, the printers have to support PDF 2.0 as well to make this a workflow.

okay thanks, that's interesting, I wasn't sure if it was possible. I'll send them separate pdfs then.

You can export pages in different files and tell the printer which profile for which pape is used. Indicate in the file name for which pages which file is supposed.
