"Export won't appear when I open the "File" tab

I'm making a card and I'm trying to export it, but when I open the 'file" tab, nothing appears. Why would that be?

Actually my friend helped me! It was in touch, and I had to change it to essential workspace! Thanks you guys!!

Let me guess using my crystal ball:

you're using MacOS (say, Mojave), and/or 4K/5K (so called Retina) display, AND InDesign CS6 (version 8.x.x).

If this is true, here's a bad news: this combo will never work (yes, among other glitches, blank menus may happen).

InDesign CS versions are just not compatible. Your best bet is upgrade to CC.
