Hi,

I am very new with InDesign but I've been tasked to create a school magazine and I encountered this problem after exporting to PDF:

The exported PDF doesn't scroll thru nicely. I'm not sure if it will be a problem when I sent to the printers. Please refer to video to see what I'm referring to.

Do let me know what info u might need to help me.

Are you viewing the PDF in Acrobat or in a browser (I can't say for sure from the video)? If it's a browser, then try Acrobat (the only appropriate PDF viewer) and see if it makes any difference.

Regardless, my guess is that your backgrounds are hi-res heavy images that can take time to render under some conditions.

In any case, this viewing issue by itself should not result in any problems when printing the document.

My bad, yes, I'm viewing em on Acrobat. Yes, I have a lot layers of hi-res images.

Thanks for the confirmation, I guess that was my only worry, if it'd encounter any problems during printing.

Out of curiousity, if it isn't meant for printing, how can I overcome this issue in order to have a pleasant reading experience on the Acrobat itself?

Well, without getting into any particulars of your file, first try to do this simple test: export your PDF using the [Smallest File Size] preset:

Will the viewing experience be better?
