Exporting and printing issues

My InDesign will RANDOMLY crash as well as take extremely long to print/export files that are not large ones to begin with.

I've reinstalled, turned off pre-flight, made sure not on HQ display performance, restarted my PC, done a number of updates on my PC, among other things such as having someone from my IT department try to figure out a solution. Some days I feel I may as well go home early from work because InDesign is so unresponsive.

I'm out of ideas on how to fix this.

    What Operating System? What version of InDesign?
