Can an inDesign document be exported to be opened in Quark Xpress?

I'll stand to be corrected but I'm quite sure that new versions of Quark can open IDML files.

You're almost certainly correct. I completely spaced on the fact that QXP, like Corel (and, speaking of which, WordPerfect), is actually still around.

...or, as @BobLevine  already mentioned, you can do it for free: Quark can open both IDML and INDD files (which I didn't know):

The short answer is no. The slightly longer answer is that someone, somewhere might have written a converter, but if such a thing should turn up, I'd wager it only works for versions well over ten years out of date.
