Question

Exporting Vector Links

Hey,

I have a question for a few years. I was never able to solve it and I think it's time for it.

I have an indesign file with vector work and a linked image. (For information, this vector work is coming from AutoCad.)

I'm linking this file in InDesign and when I export the final file, this page is huge.

I tried saving the Illustrator file as .ai, as a simplified PDF (no layers or editing capabilities...) - produces a huge exported PDF.

And as a png or tiff - produces a really bad quality exported PDF.

I can't find a solution. Any ideas?

Hi, in which formed did you place in Indesign the AutoCad image? .PSD, .PDF, .jpg or else? When you write "huge" you mean in the size or in the weight?

Let me know better the scenario so I can try to help you.

Thanks.
