Question

I have the same problem on a Macbook Pro M4, using the laptop's monitor. In full-screen, with the application frame active, the status bar keeps dropping offscreen. Setting it to full-screen again fixes it, but it seems the app keeps falling out of full-screen mode. It's annoying.

Hi @lukc666,

Thanks for jumping in and sharing your experience here. I know it can be frustrating to deal with the window dropping off-screen like that.

Could you please confirm which exact version of InDesign you're using, along with the version of macOS on your MacBook Pro M4?

In the meantime, I'd suggest trying a quick cleanup step that often helps with unexpected UI or window behavior. Could you try renaming the CEP and UXP folders?

On Mac, you'll find the CEP folder here:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe. Please rename the "CEP" folder to "CEP.old".

If that doesn't resolve it, you can also rename the UXP folders in these locations:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe and ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe. Rename "UXP" to "UXP.old".

Once you’ve done this, go ahead and restart InDesign and see if the window behavior improves.

Please let me know how it goes and feel free to share any observations.

Looking forward to hearing back from you!

Abhishek

If you're on a Mac hit the green button (top left) then resize the InDesign screen by dragging the bottom right corner.

The question is not how to resize the window. I don't want to resize the window everytime I exit fullscreen. This is a new bug. Software is made to help the user with certain things.

I have to resize the window, otherwise I can't see the staus bar.

I can only reproduce this under certain conditions on Sequoia but not on Ventura.

On macOS Sequoia:

It looks like Application Frame is the culprit.

Indeed, when Application Frame is enabled, the bottom status bar goes off-screen after exiting the full-screen mode. Not only this, but the entire InDesign frame expands below the Dock (at least when the Dock is on the left side).

I never use Application Frame so I'm not affected by this bug. Try to disable Application Frame, will it make a difference?

InDesign 20.1, Sequoia 15.4 beta.

No issues on Ventura even with Application Frame enabled.

It's the M1 Max Studio with the newest versions of everything. All is up to date.
